Whale watching

Whale Watching at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park

There is a wonderful little trail that takes you out to a point that is great for whale watching. In addition you get the best view of McWay Falls from this trail.

Fried Artichokes for Lunch

"Between Santa Cruz and Monterey is a small town called Moss Beach/Landing. I believe it is at the mouth of the Salinas River, sitting next to a power plant and a boat marina. There is little restaurant next to the highway, with a mural of a whale on the side of it, that serves the best claim chowder and fried artichokes. I drive down about twice a year just to eat the chowder and artichokes for lunch."
